Editorial Comment:
Can you name the actor, and movie, in which he said, "I'm mad as **** and I'm not going to take it anymore"?  The answer is in the following paragraphs.

Well, that sense of frustration is what a lot of us feel and a good part of that is our feeling of being overwhelmed by the magnitude of the problems facing us. We know we lack the time to research the facts, and therefore lack the knowledge to debate the "politicians" and all of their advisors... so we don't do anything! We just simmer in gridlock. The solution to this is one of the purposes of this web site.

There's the story you may have heard about Benjamin Franklin, on leaving the Constitutional Convention, he is stopped on the street by a women inquiring, "Well Dr. Franklin, what type of government have you given us?". He replied, "A Constitutional Republic madam, if you can keep it!"  "...If you can keep it!" (my emphasis).  And therein he defined our (yours & mine) responsibility.

To "keep it" we have to understand it and know when it's being changed to something different.  It requires that we spend at least part of our week educating ourselves and taking action when necessary. One action you can take right now is to contribute to support the work of the Americhris Foundation.

The information The Foundation develops for you will reflect what we have outlined as our "First Principles". We do not address questions from the philosophy of political parties or particular special interest groups, but because our country was established on the idea of truth, we let the truth of the matter identify its own position or resolution. Far to many of our political leaders and opinion makers have a pre-determined, self perpetuating agenda. They "spin" the facts to support an agenda that, first and foremost, starts with their maintaining power. Much of what is right and ethical is sacrificed in the process. Talk to the man in the street, and I think it's fair to say, that what all of us seek is an environment of peace from which to launch an effort to create a more civilized world.  This Foundations agenda, by contrast, is not self-involved. We are here, like you, because of a recognized civic responsibility.

In the short term we have a lot to do. If you review The Foundation's White Papers and Presentations page, there are three papers to be prepared that will suggest solutions to Middle East problems with ideas that political and civic leaders never seem to discuss. The audio-visual presentation, Political Freedom and Private Virtue by David Blankenhorn lays bare the cause of much of what has gone wrong in this Country and the "Hope" for how it can be remedied.

Please consider a donation today to help The Foundation produce the White Papers, and provide presentation speakers for community groups to increase public awareness and accessibility to critical information.  Below are the ways you can give.

In order to maintain our independence of thought, the Americhris Foundation accepts NO government funding or endowments. Contributions are received from individuals, private foundations and corporations. We are a non-profit, tax-exempt educational foundation under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
